Lluís Torner

Born in Berga in 1962.
Bachelor's degree in Physics from UAB, PhD and Full Professor at UPC.
He has received the Gold Medal for Scientific Merit from the City of Barcelona, the Monturiol Medal, the Leadership Award from the Optical Society of America, the National Research Prize from the Government of Catalonia, and the Nature Mentoring Award.
He advises public and private organisations across Europe, the United States, Canada, and Australia.
He was Director of the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO).
He was President of the Catalan Association of Research Entities (ACER).
